The Society of Bluffton Artists will host its 32nd Annual Judged Show from Sept. 1 through Oct. 4 at the SOBA Gallery in Old Town Bluffton.
The monthlong exhibition and fundraiser will be held at the gallery, 7 Church St., and is open to both members and nonmembers. Organizers said the show is limited to the first 100 entries received and will feature cash awards in seven artistic categories, along with a Best in Show award and honorable mentions.
Entries will be accepted through Aug. 23.
Artwork may be submitted in oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media and collage, photography and digital art, drawing, and 3-D art. According to SOBA, artwork incorporating artificial intelligence will not be accepted.
Tricia Dudley, chair of SOBA’s Annual Judged Show, said the event supports the organization’s mission and programming.
Cash awards will be presented for first, second and third place in each category.
Artwork drop-off is scheduled for Aug. 31 from 9 to 11 a.m. A reception and awards ceremony will be held Sept. 2 from 4 to 6 p.m. Artwork pickup is scheduled for Oct. 5 from 9 to 11 a.m.
Proceeds from the fundraiser support SOBA’s programs, art education initiatives and capital campaign, “A Forever Home for SOBA.”
SOBA became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2004 and relies on art sales, sponsorships, donations and volunteer support to fund its operations, according to the organization.
Local businesses and community members may also support the event through sponsorship opportunities.
