The Art League Academy will host “Halfway Home,” a sea turtle-themed art exhibit benefiting Sea Turtle Patrol HHI, from July 21-31, 2026, on Hilton Head Island.
The exhibit will feature artwork by local artists focused on sea turtles. According to organizers, 20% of artwork sales and class tuition during the event will benefit Sea Turtle Patrol HHI, a nonprofit organization that works to protect sea turtle nests and hatchlings during nesting season.
Kristen McIntosh, executive director of Art League of Hilton Head, said the exhibit is scheduled at the midpoint of sea turtle season.
“We named the exhibit Halfway Home because we’ll be right at the midpoint of sea turtle season,” McIntosh said.
The exhibit will be open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Art League Academy, 106 Cordillo Parkway.
Programming during the event will include sea turtle-themed classes and a free Turtle Talk presented by a Sea Turtle Patrol volunteer on July 24 at 2 p.m. Organizers said the presentation will focus on Hilton Head Island’s sea turtle population, nesting season and conservation efforts.
A closing reception is scheduled for July 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. Organizers said attendees will have an opportunity to meet participating artists and Sea Turtle Patrol volunteers. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
Amber Kuehn, director of Sea Turtle Patrol HHI, said volunteers monitor Hilton Head beaches daily during nesting season to help protect nests and hatchlings.
“Community partnerships like this not only help fund our mission, but also educate residents and visitors about how they can help protect this endangered species,” Kuehn said.
Class registration is available at artleaguehhi.org.
