Harbour Town to host annual Shrimp Festival

The Hilton Head Island Shrimp Festival will return Sept. 19 for its eighth year, bringing shrimp dishes, craft beer, live music and family activities to Harbour Town.

The festival will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on the lawn adjacent to the Liberty Oak at The Sea Pines Resort. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Hilton Head Island.

The event will feature all-you-can-eat shrimp prepared by local chefs, along with craft beer from more than a dozen breweries. Kids’ activities and specialty vendors also are planned.

“Our culinary team launched the shrimp celebration to showcase our locally sourced shrimp, one of the region’s most valued natural resources,” said Matt Roher, director of food and beverage at The Sea Pines Resort. “Over the years, the event has evolved into a vibrant festival featuring craft breweries and talented Lowcountry chefs, each adding a creative twist to local shrimp dishes.”

Early-bird tickets, available through July 31, are $65 for guests 21 and older and $45 for guests younger than 21 and those who do not drink alcohol. Admission is free for children 8 and younger.

Beginning Aug. 1, tickets will cost $79 for guests 21 and older and $59 for guests younger than 21 and nondrinkers. Children 8 and younger will continue to receive free admission.

Parking will be available in Lot 1, with shuttle service to Harbour Town beginning at 12:30 p.m. Shuttles will continue operating for one hour after the festival ends.

Attendees must show a printed or digital ticket confirmation to receive free gate access to Sea Pines on Sept. 19.
