Ladies, mark your calendars for a very special day in golf. Women’s Golf Day is June 6. It will be celebrated in 42 countries, 632 locations with more than 29,000 participants. Their goal is to “Engage, Empower, and Support” women’s golf.
The day consists of two segments, one golf focused and one more social. The first segment is called Engagement. This is an opportunity for any girl or woman to try golf for the first time in a fun, non-intimidating environment alongside existing women golfers.
You can sign-up for a 9-hole scramble on the golf course or take a clinic on the driving range or practice greens.
The second segment of the event is called Empower. Women will learn skills that last a lifetime.
Women want to learn ways to socialize and stay connected with significant others, friends and work colleagues.
Information will be given on lesson availability, women’s outings, rules and etiquette.
Support includes getting local courses, manufacturers and retailers involved to create more interest in women’s golf.
Golf facilities all over the country are hosting events. In our area, I will be hosting an event from 4 to 8 p.m. at Pinecrest Golf Club along with their teaching professionals.
Other local hosts include the PGA Tour Superstore, Country Club of Hilton Head, Golf Club at Indigo Run, and Golden Bear Golf Club.
