As we find ourselves in the midst of the most joyous and generous time of the year, surrounded by family and friends, it’s important to remember those who are without … those like Maxwell.
This 9-year-old boy lived in the same home for years, but due to unfortunate and unforeseen circumstances, he now finds himself living at the Palmetto Animal League Adoption Center during what is supposed to be the happiest time of the year.
Maxwell dreams of finding a quiet home where he and his 5-year-old “brother” Dusty can live together just like before. We know that might not be possible, but it’s his greatest holiday wish.
The PAL Adoption Center, located in Okatie’s Riverwalk Business Park, serves as a temporary home for over 200 animals, with even more in foster care. Each pet has a unique personality and story, just like Maxwell.
You can change the life of a homeless pet this holiday season during Palmetto Animal League’s Season of Second Chances. We are waiving adoption fees for cats, kittens and adult dogs through New Year’s Day, encouraging adopters to open their homes and their hearts this holiday season.
All pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. All they need is a warm bed and a loving family to call their own. Let’s send them home for the holidays!
Can’t adopt? You can still make a difference – and share some holiday cheer with shelter pets this year!
Our animal-loving friends at Pinnacle Plastic Surgery are kicking off their annual Blankets for Botox donation drive with a big party Dec. 6 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at their office, located at 7 Mallett Way in Sheridan Park. Enjoy refreshments and door prizes as you mingle with some of PAL’s adoptable pets.
Bring a new blanket, pet food, pet toy or pet store gift card to the party and receive a special discount on select Pinnacle services. All donations benefit homeless pets in our area, as PAL shares the items with other shelters in need.
With so many great ways to get involved this holiday season, don’t let another day pass without doing your part to help homeless pets. These are lives worth saving.
