Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and if you’re like me, you’re already thinking about this love-filled, romantic day.

You’re probably already pondering what you might wear, either at work (for me, usually something red or a heart-shaped brooch) or for a romantic night with your sweetheart.

My advice this season, as the powerful color of red surrounds you, is to take your cues from Wonder Woman.

Wonder Woman? A costume? Knee high boots, a golden tiara and a hooded cape? Well, no, not exactly.

But everywhere I look lately, on the cover of fashion magazines and on red carpet runways, Gal Gadot, the beautiful, talented actress who portrayed Wonder Woman in last year’s hit movie, is being heralded for her beauty.

She’s ubiquitously turning heads, and in so doing, I believe she’s having a ripple effect. Thus, what better time than for V-Day to capitalize on her stunning, superhero style?

First, Gadot radiates a fresh, Amazonian glow. She has youthful, dewy skin that is both natural and striking, and I believe she’s influencing beauty trends.

According to ELLE magazine, “barely there,” makeup is back for 2018. So, step number one for your V-Day look? Choose a natural facial hue.

Second, in contrast, add bold, red lips. At the recent Golden Globe awards, stars – including Gadot – wore red lip colors that made a statement. I call it the “Wonder Woman effect,” and actually, Revlon just named Gadot their new 2018 brand ambassador.

Personally, I think red lips take a bit of courage. So, if you need extra muster, try visiting a local beauty counter or salon for guidance on picking your perfect red shade.

Then, you’ll be surprised at how prepared you feel, and you’ll exude a heroine-like confidence for show-time.

Third, pick great accessories. According to Vogue magazine, the “micropurse” is the 2018 go-to bag. A mini satchel, clutch or attractive wristlet is just right when you want to project effortless style.

Make sure to choose one with enough room for your phone, I.D., and smashing red lipstick. Then, add “superhero” bling, especially if you’re tying a formidable up-do, like Gadot.

Big, sparkly, chandelier earrings are back, and what better time to wear them than for your evening of love?

Last, and probably most importantly, is that true, superhero Valentine’s Day looks aren’t solely fashioned on the outside. The real beauty of Wonder Woman is that, “She’s full of heart, strength, compassion and forgiveness,” said Gadot.

Always remember that real superhero beauty lies within.
