With this feature, we seek to capture a glimpse of what you and your neighbors have to say about a variety of topics, issues, events – and just plain fun questions.
Normally, you might find us anywhere around the community with a camera and note pad, asking simple questions and looking for thoughtful answers. This time, we are practicing social distancing and turned to social media to ask our question: How are you dealing with social distancing to help flatten the curve of the coronavirus?
Art Hansen, Hilton Head Island: “Mostly staying home and working on art projects. Our neighborhood has started ‘driveway cocktail hours,’ everyone brings their own drinks, snacks and keeps 6- to 8-foot spacing.”
Karoline Chapman, Bluffton: “We’ve been staying home. No more playdates, no outings, only go to the store when we need to. We have to be pretty creative with an energetic 4-year-old boy, but we’re managing.”
Diane Rudolph, Hardeeville: “I’m not sure I’m helping to flatten the curve as I work in a grocery store and still go to work every day. We do keep our distance from one another as well as customers.”
Tena Thompson, Bluffton: “Playing great music and dancing like there is a tomorrow!”
Carol Romano Geraghty, Hilton Head Island: “I am taking this opportunity to get caught up on all my beading projects.”
