With this feature, we seek to capture a glimpse of what you and your neighbors have to say about a variety of topics, issues, events – and just plain fun questions.

Normally, you might find us anywhere around the community with a camera and note pad, asking simple questions and looking for thoughtful answers. During this coronavirus pandemic, we are practicing social distancing and turned to social media to ask readers and followers: “During your sheltering at home over the past weeks, what was the best book you read?”

Lette O’Sheill, Hilton Head Island: ” ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’ by Delia Owens!”

Jim Smith, Bluffton: ” ‘Art and Physics.’ It ventures into each subject, the history of each and how they have been intertwined throughout history.”

Sarah Joey Clemmons, Bluffton: ” ‘Say Nothing,’ about the IRA in Northern Ireland form the early ’70s to nearly present!”

Denise Spencer, Bluffton: ” ‘The Life You Can Save: How to Do Your Part to End World Poverty’ by Peter Singer, and ‘Teach Your Gift’ by Danny Iny.”

Holly Bounds Jackson, Bluffton: ” ‘Everything That Remains: A Memoir by The Minimalists.’ I certainly could live with a lot less, and this is inspiring me to do that.”
