With this feature, we seek to capture a glimpse of what your neighbors have to say about a variety of topics, issues, events – and just plain fun questions.
You might find us anywhere around Bluffton with a camera and note pad, asking simple questions and looking for thoughtful answers. If we find you, we hope you will want to participate.
Many new movies are released over the holidays and into the New Year. At Studio B Marketplace, 1476 Fording Island Road in Bluffton, we asked: “What is your all-time favorite movie?”
Pam Gabso (owner), Hilton Head Island: “That’s easy – ‘Gone With the Wind,’ because of Scarlett’s strength. As much as she loved Rhett Butler, she was going to do what she had to do.”
Sylvia Tate, California: “‘Avatar,’ because it talks about saving nature, saving the planet.”
Edward Tate, Bluffton: “It’s hard to choose just one. For action movies, it’s ‘The Outlaw Josey Wales.’ I could watch it all the time. I’ve been watching it since I was 15.”
Bruce Bartolotto, Ridgeland: “‘The Shawshank Redemption.’ I like it because of the relationship between Tim Robbins (‘Andy’) and Morgan Freeman (‘Red’), and how they helped each other.”
Rita Moore, Ridgeland: “I have two favorites: ‘Steel Magnolias’ and ‘Forrest Gump.’ They have different meanings, but both are about perseverance and both are motivational. Forrest Gump just kept going!”
