• The next meeting of the newly formed Lowcountry SC Lyme Support Group will be held from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m. June 14 at the Bluffton Branch, 120 Palmetto Way.

The group was formed in April for the support of people and families who have been affected by Lyme disease.

  • The Health Care Network Group of the Lowcountry will meet June 16 in Caddy’s Pub Restaurant at Rose Hill Plantation’s golf clubhouse. Networking begins at 8:30 a.m. with the meeting at 9 a.m.

Speakers for the meeting are Kirsten Hotchkiss of My Life’s Message and Brandy Gray of Benton House.

The group is open to anyone in the health care or associated professions. Meetings are open to members and guests, who may attend two meetings free of charge before joining. Membership is $50 per year.

  • Emily Murphy, FNP-C of Hilton Head Dermatology recently attended the National Academy of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners conference that was held May 9-14 in Clearwater, Fla.

Murphy is working on her certification through NADNP, which is the only post-master’s certification program for dermatology nurse practitioners. She currently sees patients at Hilton Head Dermatology’s locations in both Okatie and Hilton Head Island.
