Sean McGuire, MD and Suzanne Wheeler-Deckelbaum, MSN, FNP-BC have joined May River Dermatology.

Dr. McGuire is a board certified dermatologist and is fellowship trained in Mohs Micrographic Surgery. He is also an associate member of the American College of Mohs Surgery.

His specific interests in dermatology include surgical oncology, teledermatology, and the use of technology in medicine.

Dr. McGuire graduated cum laude from Duke University with a degree in biomedical engineering and was selected into Tau Beta Pi, the national engineering honors society. He graduated with honors from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Honors Society.

He completed his intern year in internal medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

He completed his dermatology training at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center, where he served as chief resident in his final year. Dr. McGuire received fellowship training in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Skin Oncology at Penn State.

Dr. McGuire and his wife, Angelina, enjoy biking, hiking, and playing at the beach with their daughter Quinn, and miniature Australian Shepard, Finn.

Wheeler-Deckelbaum specializes in general dermatology, and sees both adult and pediatric patients.

She is a graduate of the University of Georgia and the University of South Carolina where she earned a Master of Science degree in nursing, and completed her graduate training as a nurse practitioner.

A native of the Lowcountry, she practiced dermatology for four years in Raleigh, N.C. and has more than 15 years of dermatology experience.

In her free time, Wheeler-Deckelbaum enjoys traveling and spending time with her friends and family, husband Rick, and their two dogs.

David M. Sedory, MD has joined the network of orthopedic physicians at Optim Orthopedics, seeing patients at their Savannah, Richmond Hill, and Hinesville locations.

Most recently, Dr. Sedory served as chief of surgery at the Winn Army Community Hospital at Fort Stewart. From 2011 through 2017, he was the team physician and surgeon for the 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment stationed at Hunter Army Airfield.

Dr. Sedory is a board certified orthopedic surgeon and a specialist in arthroscopic surgery of the hip, knee and shoulder.

His practice focuses on joint and cartilage preservation surgeries.

Dr. Sedory earned his medical degree in 2005 from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed his orthopedic internship and residency at Brooke Army Medical Center, now San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium.

Dr. Sedory obtained additional training in hip arthroscopy and hip preservation surgeries in Nashville and at Duke University and has performed hundreds of arthroscopic hip surgeries since 2013.
