Sondra Smith has joined Hilton Head Regional Healthcare as its new Chief Strategy Officer.

In this role, Smith will use data to analyze market dynamics, trends and competition. She’ll then implement strategies to advance the system’s growth, patient experience and physician alignment.

Smith will be responsible for leading innovative ideas to improve practices that are currently in place at Hilton Head Hospital, Coastal Carolina Hospital, the Bluffton Medical Campus and the Bluffton-Okatie Outpatient Center.

Smith brings 25 years’ experience to her new position. Most recently, she served as the vice president of strategic planning and development at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Ga., for more than 10 years.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy from the Medical College of Georgia before completing a Master of Science degree in healthcare management from Troy State University. Smith is also a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

  • Kindred at Home, a home health and hospice agency, is holding its annual food drive through the end of August to serve patients and other families through the Agape Family Life Center in Hardeeville.

Non-perishable food items, such as dried pasta, cereals, dried beans and canned goods, as well as personal care items, are being collected at the agency’s office, 2 Westbury Park Way, Suite 102, in Bluffton.
