Leading up to the Super Bowl, two island chefs, Lucky Rooster’s Clayton Rollison and FISH’s Lee Lucier, staged their own “Super Bowl Chef Showdown” for a good cause.

“Philly Dilly” Lucier picked the Eagles to win and “Lowcountry Loco” Rollison, a die-hard Patriot’s fan, picked his team.

The stakes was a pop-up dinner to benefit the winner’s charity of choice. The chef who lost the bet had to host the fundraising dinner and the winning chef got to cook the dinner.

Chef Lucier had chosen Volunteers in Medicine HHI as his charity, and since the Eagles prevailed in the Super Bowl, VIM was to receive the donation from the dinner.

A check presentation was held April 26 at Lucky Rooster, when Chef Rollison presented a check for $1,850 to the free clinic.
