The Grind Coffee Roasters has moved into a newly renovated space at 1 Sherington Drive in Sheridan Park, Bluffton.

A grand opening and ribbon cutting with the Greater Bluffton Chamber of Commerce will be held at 8:30 a.m. April 17. The event is open to the public.

Owner and head roaster Ian Duncan started The Grind in May 2016 as a wholesale roasting company. The new location will serve coffee and simple food items, sell retail, and continue the wholesale operation.

Operating hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, and 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturdays. For more information, call 843-580-1882.

South Carolina Realtors Rick Turner and Linda Rudd have created the Turner Rudd Team at Charter One Realty.

Members of the Turner Rudd team, some of the top-producing Realtors in the area, have closed more than 3,000 properties.

Turner moved to the area in 1972 from Indiana and has been a full-time Realtor here since that time. He has founded and co-founded several highly successful real estate companies.

Lindsay Wooten has joined Sonesta Resort Hilton Head Island as conference services manager, part of the sales and catering team.

In her new position, Wooten is responsible for coordinating meetings, conventions and events at the 11-acre resort.

Prior to joining Sonesta Resort, she was catering sales manager at The Ridge Hotel in Lake Geneva, Wisc. Wooten’s extensive experience also includes serving as director of catering at Miramonte Indian Wells Resort & Spa in Indian Wells, Calif.; catering and conference services manager at Vail Cascade Resort & Spa in Vail, Colo.; and event sales manager at Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa in Jacksonville, Fla.

In addition, she spent two years in Thailand as a fifth-grade teacher at a government school in the English program. She is a graduate of the University of Central Florida, with a Bachelor of Science degree in hospitality management, with a concentration in event management.

Kelly Sigg has joined HUB Carolinas, a region of HUB International, as the market leader for its Hilton Head Island and Bluffton offices.

Most recently, Sigg was the assistant agency manager and vice president of BB&T/McGriff Insurance Services. She has 24 years’ experience in the insurance industry.

A native of Alpharetta, Ga., Sigg studied industrial organizational psychology at the University of Georgia. Sigg resides in Bluffton with her husband and two children.

Kristen Maynard has been hired as director of fitness programming and Shelly Heatwole has been hired as a personal trainer at the newly opened eFitClub in Bluffton.

Maynard’s philosophy is that exercise should be a celebration of everything your body can do. She has worked in clinical settings such as cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation and in general fitness as a health educator.

She is skilled in weight loss, disease management, special populations, post-physical rehabilitation continuum, personal training, and small group personal training. She is capable of developing personalized programs for everyone’s fitness journey.

She is currently developing a fitness program for people with Parkinson’s that will start late May this year.

Maynard’s credentials include a Master’s of Science in clinical exercise physiology from Ohio University, Bachelor’s of Science in exercise physiology, and has the following certifications: ACSM Clinical Exercise Physiologist, MX4 Small Group Training, Silver Sneakers, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Heatwole comes to the area from Shrewsbury, Pa., where she worked at Elevation Corporate Health in Hunt Valley, Md. for 11 years and was selected as Personal Trainer of the Year three times.

Throughout her career, she has worked with more than 500 clients in individual and small group personal training.

Heatwole specializes in weight loss, functional fitness, muscular strength/endurance, sports related and mind-body training. She is currently instructing Pilates and Pure Flow classes as well as MX4 Small Group Personal Training classes.

Heatwole is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor, and her specialty certifications include Pilates, Barre Ballet, Yogafit, MX4, Aquatics (AEA) and Functional Fitness/HIIIT Training.

Catrina Dickinson has joined The Greenery’s Floral Division as a regional seasonal color manager.

Dickinson graduated with a B.A. from the University of California Santa Barbara. She is experienced in floral design, and has installed and maintained annual beds and perennial gardens in various locations throughout the Southeast.

Dickinson has more than 15 years of experience in floral design and maintenance. She is a recipient of the MALTA award for her commercial color displays and received the Hilton Head Island Beautification award for the Port Royal Plantation entrance.

Dickinson will help oversee the floral technicians, coordinate maintenance schedules and evaluate the performance of color beds and ensure optimal appearance all year round.

Greg Weppner has been promoted to food and beverage manager. Previous to his arrival at Haig Point, Weppner was the general manager at Sea Pines Resort’s Frasers Tavern and Plantation Clubhouse.

John Taylor Griffin has been promoted to executive chef, bringing more than 15 years’ experience in food and beverage. He previously served as the head chef at Marshside Mama’s Café on Daufuskie Island.

Following more than 12 years of service at Haig Point, Ian Gordon was recently promoted to executive sous chef at the Clubhouse Grill Room.

Simone Concas recently joined the Haig Point team as the new executive sous chef at the Calibogue Club. Concas was previously the executive chef of Belfair Country Club in Bluffton.

Caleb Graham has been named general manager of Ocean Oak Resort by Hilton Grand Vacations Club.

In his new role, Graham will provide strategic oversight of daily operations at the resort, focusing on maximizing owner, guest and team member satisfaction.

With more than 26 years of progressive experience in hospitality, Graham joined HGV in 2008 as front office manager at Hilton Grand Vacations Club at Tuscany Village. Most recently, Graham served as director of guest services at Tuscany Village.
