Jonathan Yarwood, director of golf and instruction with the International Junior Golf Academy, has been named to GOLF Magazine’s Top 100 Teachers in America.

Yarwood is one of 16 new members on the elite list this year. Since its inception in 1991, GOLF Magazine’s Top Teachers in America ranking has become the industry standard for teaching excellence.

Yarwood, a British PGA Master Professional, has a long-standing career in golf instruction. He has trained a U.S. Open winner, two U.S. Amateur winners, two U.S. Girls’ winners, three AJGA Players of the Year, four No. 1 juniors, a collegiate No. 1 and winners on the PGA, LPGA, European, Challenge, Asian and Australasian tours.

He has been recognized for his contribution to the game by being the youngest person to be made a British PGA Master Professional in 2011. He was also voted a Top 20 Teacher under 40 by Golf Digest, and Best Teachers in State Rankings for over a decade.

Dee Gramoy, owner of the company, recently received the Centurion Award for 2018 outstanding sales achievements from Century 21 Corporate, and Karen Smith Davis received the 2018 Quality Service Award.

According to the Century 21 website, the Centurion Award is “one of the most prestigious awards presented to Century 21 real estate professionals.” Only a small number reach this status.

Jordan Treadaway has been named chief operating office at Outside Brands, includes Outside Hilton Head, Outside Palmetto Bluff, and Outside Savannah, as well as retail locations throughout the area.

Treadaway is a third generation Outside employee, following her father and grandfather.

She began her Outside career in 2005, working high school and college summers as a reservationist, retail associate and kayak guide. After graduating from Clemson University with a degree in business management with concentrations in Spanish and economics, she returned to Outside Brands as director of reservations.

After four years at J. Banks Design as design assistant, then director of operations, Treadaway returned to Outside Brands and her current position as COO.

• Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort has announced several recent hires and promotions.

Stephen Arnold has been named general manager of the Robert Trent Jones Course. Originally from Owensboro, Ky., he started coming to Hilton Head Island in college, working in food and beverage during school breaks.

Having studied sports administration at the University of Louisville, Arnold joined the resort as a golf assistant upon moving to the area full time in 2008. While working at the golf courses, he also ran his family business in Kentucky from his Hilton Head Island home until they sold the business last year.

Brandi Darbonnier is now a group golf sales coordinator. Originally from St. Charles, Mo., she lived in California, Washington and Florida before moving to South Carolina.

Darbonnier attended Northwood University in West Palm Beach, Fla., on a golf and academic scholarship. She continues to play golf.

Kimberly McKee has taken the position of assistant manager of Alexander’s Restaurant & Wine Bar. Originally from Lexington, Ky., she started vacationing on Hilton Head Island with her family in the 1980s.

McKee, who also has a South Carolina Real Estate license, eventually moved to Hilton Head Island and later Charleston, where she owned and operated multiple restaurants, before moving back to Hilton Head Island.

Laurie Sell has joined the team as commercial property manager. Sell moved to the island after 20 years working in the Michigan real estate industry with residential and commercial properties.

In her new position, Sell is responsible for managing the operation of commercial real estate properties in Shelter Cove Harbour and Marina, as well as Palmetto Dunes.

Taylor Woodward has been promoted to chef de cuisine at Alexander’s Restaurant & Wine Bar, having previously served as sous chef since November.

Woodward graduated from the Culinary Institute of America and has both front- and back-of-the-house experience.

Previous experiences include work with national brands such as Whole Foods and Microsoft, as well as Lucky Rooster on Hilton Head as chef de cuisine.
