Carla Raines of Century 21 Diamond Realty has earned the nationally recognized Seniors Real Estate Specialist designation from the Seniors Real Estate Specialist Council of the National Association of Realtors.
Raines joins more than 15,000 real estate professionals in North America who have earned the SRES designation. All were required to successfully complete a comprehensive course in understanding the needs, considerations and goals of real estate buyers and sellers aged 55 and older.
SRES Council, founded in 2007, is the world’s largest association of real estate professionals focusing specifically on representing senior clients in real estate transactions.
• LUX: A Medical Spa has announced that it will open a new facility in Shelter Cove Towne Centre on Hilton Head Island, next to Starbucks, in August 2019.
At this location, the spa will offer a number of clinical procedures and spa treatments such as facials, chemical peels, hydrafacials, microneedling and injectables, as well as skin care products.

Dr. Robert Kelly Jr., a bariatric and minimally invasive surgeon at Memorial Health, recently was named a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM).
He is the first surgeon in the region to earn board certification in obesity medicine, which means he is knowledgeable about a variety of obesity treatments and can match patients with the most appropriate treatment.
According to a recent study, 69 percent of Americans (160 million) now qualify as overweight or obese, up from 65 percent in 2003-2004.
Dr. Kelly joined Memorial Health University Physicians Surgical & Bariatric Care in 2012.
He is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He completed his surgical residency at Memorial Health University Medical Center and a fellowship in bariatric and minimally invasive surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Sandra (Sandy) Milliken, MSW has joined Staying Connected, a 501(3)(c) nonprofit organization helps Sun City residents navigate through life’s challenges.
Milliken is the organization’s first executive director. She recently moved from Summerville, where she was in private practice as a care manager working with older adults and their families.
Milliken previously served as executive director of Operation Home, a Charleston organization, and as executive director for Big Brothers Big Sisters Services in Richmond, Va.
Milliken has a Master’s of Social Work from the University of South Carolina.
