Beaufort Memorial Hospital (BMH) is currently conducting a community health needs assessment and is asking for participation by residents of Beaufort, Jasper and Hampton counties who are over age 15.
Participating residents can complete a short, 100-percent-confidential survey available online at BeaufortMemorial.org/CommunityNeeds. (A Spanish language version of the survey is available at BeaufortMemorial.org/NecesidadesDeLaComunidad.)
Surveys should be completed by Feb. 28.
“You will need just 10 minutes to complete the questionnaire,” said Laurie Martin, associate vice president of operations at Beaufort Memorial. “The time you invest today may help us identify services that will add years to someone’s life tomorrow.”
As a not-for-profit community hospital, Beaufort Memorial regularly conducts assessments to better understand the health of the community and to help the hospital develop programs that address identified health needs and improve residents’ health and wellness.
Beaufort Memorial currently operates Bluffton Medical Services, a satellite facility in Westbury Park, offering a wide range of services, including X-ray, mammograms, lab work, adult rehabilitation and a Memory Center.
The hospital has a primary care and OB-GYN practice, as well as several other specialists, who see patients at the facility. In addition, the hospital’s pediatric rehab program, Health Link for Children, has a location off Buckwalter Parkway.
BMH has announced plans to build a 60,000-square-foot medical office building near Okatie Crossing and a micro hospital off Bluffton Parkway, with a 15-bed emergency room and 20 beds for acute care.
Both facilities are being developed in partnership with the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC Health). The medical office building is scheduled to open in 2020 and the hospital in 2022.
