Patients who want to schedule a visit with their Beaufort Memorial primary care provider or specialist are now able to see their provider by video instead of the office.

Visits can be scheduled for a variety of issues, including well care, medication check or refill, chronic disease management and sick visits.

“We understand the importance of social distancing, mitigating unnecessary exposure to patients and staff in order to stop the spread of COVID-19,” said BMH Vice President of Physician Services Chris Ketchie. “Video visits offer patients a way to safely schedule and keep appointments with their providers.”

The service is available through the hospital’s telemedicine service BMH Care Anywhere, which can be accessed by downloading the app or visiting bmhcareanywhere.org.

Practices offering scheduled video visits include: Beaufort Memorial Primary Care, Bluffton Primary Care, Heart Specialists, Lady’s Island Internal Medicine, Lowcountry Medical Group (Primary Care, Gastroenterology, Gynecology), May River Primary Care, Obstetrics & Gynecology Specialists, Oncology Specialists, Orthopaedic Specialists, Sea Island Psychiatry, and Surgical Specialists.

“Several of our primary care practices are currently accepting new patients,” said Ketchie. “If you don’t currently have a primary care provider, this is an excellent opportunity to establish a relationship.”

Patients should first call the practice office to schedule their virtual visit. Insurance coverage can be verified at that time. For more information, download detailed instructions about how to access the service at beaufortmemorial.org/VirtualVisitHowTo.
