As the owner of a local business that helps people in their wellness goals, I have seen and heard it all. The crazy and harmful things men and women are doing to their bodies in an effort to lose their stubborn fat are often shocking.
When the body is starved or fed toxic and fake foods, no wonder a person feels frustrated and claims that nothing ever works. Here are five major factors you possibly haven’t considered.
Stress: When the body has stress it reacts in a sort of protection mode. Hormones such as cortisol are released. Even though you might not feel like eating, those hormones could cause you to gain weight.
Find positive ways to deal with stress like going for a walk, getting a massage or whatever works for you.
Lack of physical activity: Get moving every day, even if it’s for just 20 minutes. We live in a beautiful place with unlimited, year-round options. Our bodies are meant to be active, and the benefits are plenty.
Build up of toxins in your cells and body: You’d never drive your car 30,000 miles without an oil change, but we do it to our bodies, then we wonder why we have health problems. The answer is nutrition that naturally cleanses the body to the cells.
Eating too much: There’s no excuse to overindulge, especially when it’s the wrong foods. A great question to ask yourself: “Is this food going to help my body or hurt my body?” Overeating poor foods causes excessive insulin release and the body to gain fat.
Lack of nutrition in what you eat: What kind of fuel would you put in a race car? For the optimum performance you choose the best fuel. The same is true for your body. Dieting leads to disaster.
Depriving your body of nutrients, especially protein, causes your body to go into a catabolic state, making your body eat away at the muscle to survive.
Starving the body causes it to hang on to fat instead of releasing it. The body has no idea when it’s going to be fed next and kicks in to survival mode.
Making simple and not drastic changes can go a long way in enjoying a healthy and well-functioning body. I’ve seen it happen thousands of times.
